Our Story
Brian and Erin Mooney have spent over a decade building a family business around bringing people together at the table. Founded by the husband-and-wife team, Tre Luna Catering has been serving Birmingham from its downtown location since 2014.
In 2019, they brought that same philosophy to a restaurant setting, opening Tre Luna Bar & Kitchen in Hoover, AL, with Brian as Executive Chef. Now, that same passion for bringing people together has grown into Theodore by Tre Luna, a venue built to host the moments that matter most to our guests.
the history of the Theodore
The Theodore was originally built as Swann & Co Laboratories in 1929 by Theodore Swann. Mr. Swann was a widely known Birmingham mogul, industrialist, and larger-than-life character.
In 2017, the building was purchased and thoughtfully restored as an event venue. Original architectural details such as exposed brick walls, steel windows, and barrel-truss ceilings were preserved, making this venue a true representation of the "Magic City."
